Meet Elisabeth
Elisabeth Olds is a dedicated professional with a track record of impactful work in the field of anti-domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy. Ms. Olds has over twenty years of experience founding and working for community-based organizations, developing and implementing innovative victim services programs, as well as coordinating and evaluating complex multidisciplinary responses to victims of crime.
In her current role as Principal at Dynamic Strategies, LLC, Ms. Olds provides consulting services, technical assistance and direct advocacy support for various initiatives that increase the coordinated, evidence-driven practices for advocacy services, organizational development, and government systems and partners to further the rights, access, and dignity of survivors of violent crime with a primary focus on gender-based violence. She works with stakeholders to implement comprehensive programs and training covering crisis intervention, violence prevention and best practices benefiting nonprofit organizations, law enforcement, courts, and other government agencies. Her collaborative efforts have improved services and increased legal rights and access to justice.
Most recent projects include:
Evaluating the District of Columbia’s sexual assault investigations and auditing evidence kit processing from 2015 to 2024;
Coordinating DC SAFE’s High Risk Domestic Violence Initiative;
Serving as an interim executive director for an organization undergoing a comprehensive reorganization to better serve victims of domestic violence and sexual assault;
Training 2,200 patrol officers, over 500 new recruits, and 380 911/311 operators and dispatchers to help them better understand domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma and help them work effectively in partnership with advocacy services.
Co-founding Survivors and Advocates for Empowerment (DC SAFE), Inc. in 2007, where she served as Co-Executive Director until 2013. Under her leadership, SAFE served 6,000 domestic violence victims annually.
Pioneering a novel advocacy and shelter model in collaboration with law enforcement and the judicial system;
Creating a low barrier shelter program recognized by the US Department of Justice;
Doubling the organization’s staff and budget; and
Established a Court Watch Program.
Ward 1 Representative on the Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board in Washington, DC;
Board member for the Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Violence (JCADA).
